The kennel is very sturdy, and I feel confident that this will safely contain my precocious German shepherd puppy. However the kennel is a rather noisy. His routine shifting around and settling in the kennel makes quite a racket. It’s kind of disturbing when you have your dog kenneled in your bedroom and he’s making all that noise.Another thing I’m not fond of is the fact that most of the kennels of this type do not have solid bottoms. I bought this one solely because it was the only one that didn’t have wire grates at the bottom. This one has Square bars instead. To me both of these seem uncomfortable, but with it being bars instead of a grate was the lesser of 2 problems. Thankfully my husband is an amateur woodworker. He happened to have some plywood in his lumber stash that fits the bottom of this kennel almost perfectly. He sealed it and put it on the bottom of the kennel. I’m hoping that my dog finds this more comfortable and slightly warmer in the winter months.I have a Alaskan/Siberian Husky and we have been through three of the basic kennel you find at the pet so as you can see by the picture attached her completely destroyed them and found a way out if you left him for long periods of time. We wanted a more rugged kennel that did not break the bank like a lot of escape proof kennels and found this one. Now this is a great kennel on it own if you do not have a escape artist like my Apollo. So sadly there are two weak points that we had to address:#1- The top latch that completely opens the top as you can see above we had to modify with these bolt clamps to keep permanently shut. My husky has so much power he discover is he keeping pushing hard over and over the latch will wiggle free.#2- Again my husky has discovered how to wiggle latches free so you may not have this problem but again if my husky keeps pushing the front door over and over the latch will wiggle free and he can escape so i have to tie down the door with a paracord to keep him in.Once I do these two step i have had him he cannot break free (knock on wood) other than that this is a great kennel for your larger dog who well make easy work of a cheap kennel. I am very satisfied and so relieved that i do not have to drag him everywhere especially now that we are going into the warmer months and i worry my A/C will kick out and put him in danger when i take him on errand that require a long shopping trip.My dog can still chew these bars , but it still together and holding him in.This was my last option for our rescue pup. He had previously destroyed 2 crates! In 1 week. His crate anxiety is extremely high and at times difficult to keep him contained. This crate is strong, extremely sturdy, easy to clean and the bars are big. He has tried to bite his way out but has failed. It folds up to about 3ish inches thick for travel. I highly recommend this crate it is worth the money.So far so good. I’ve had it for a little over a month now & my 80lb lab hasn’t been able to get out of it or bust the bars. She tears everything else up.This kennel is absolutely worth every penny spent. I was on the verge of spending 1000.00 on a escape proof kennel when I decided to give this one a try first. I am 100% impressed with this kennel! Cooper, my 50lb hound x with the strongest jaw and hardest head I've ever seen can not get out of this kennel. Now, he has managed to loosen (broke the weld) the upper hinge but I reinforced it with a simple clamp. He has bitten and dented the bars on the top but not pierced the bar, yet. I'm hoping he gives up trying before he is able to pierce the bar. My only recommendation would be to make the bars just a little bit closer together so the pet can't get ahold of the bar with their mouth. All in all I am very happy.I foster animals for a local rescue and had a 30 lb feral dog the was able to escape anything I tried to put her in. I ordered this and poof, no more escaping. It was simple to put together and because of the design it is fairly easy to disassemble and move. It is a bit heavy for me to take up and down steps but I just had to call in reinforcements and there was no problem at all. I love how the top lifts up to gain access because I can clean out and the crate easier and also catch a pet of her to help get her use to people. Plenty big enough for a bed on one side and pee pads on the other. I use the extra large ones from Chewy and they fit perfectly. It was every easy to clean. I just take out the two pans on the bottom to clean up anything that falls through and wipe ip anything inside that needs cleaned up. And when it needs mote than that I take it outside and hose it down with the power washer. It has a small door at the bottom of the larger door that you can use to put food and water in so your escape artist can't get out. It has helped so much, well worth the expense.
