Absolutely love this dog house. So easy to put together and no tools needed. After figuring out the first couple of steps it was so simple and quick to put together. My friend helped me and it took us about twenty minutes, but I could have put it together by myself easily too. The composite is great. The size is perfect for my medium size dog. I couldn’t be more pleased with this dog house and my purchase. This product is awesome. Assembly was so easy and weather proof to water and weather.. in addition it has ventilation holes in each corner on floor so your dog is breathing good air circulation yeah.. my 1 year old German Shepard loves her outside house, she owns it when running around outside. Thank you for a perfect product. ?❤️After searching everywhere for a large dog house that I could use for my sulcata tortoises, I decided to go with this one. I chose it based on the size, because my boys are still growing, and I needed it tall enough to hang a heater. The house arrived in two boxes and the first thing I noticed is that the directions weren't going to be much help. I went ahead and spread everything out in my living room to get an idea of how it would go together, and after a lot of staring at the directions, I finally noticed that all of the flat parts have tiny numbers on them. I got all the pieces together to create the base, paying particular attention to which corner supports were for the front and which for the back, then I hauled everything outside to begin building. Once I got over the frustrating directions and got the base together, the rest was pretty easy. It goes together like a log cabin with alternating pieces on the side, side, front, back. Then the next row, side, side, front, back. Do this all the way around and eventually you get to the top. Unfortunately, once I did get to the top I realized that when I moved outside, I switched my corner supports so I had built the whole thing backwards. I was ready to kick it to pieces, but then I decided to lay it on its back to see if it would stay together. It did, and I was able to slide off the four corner supports then neatly slide them back on in the correct order. After that, I stood it up put in the thumb screws. Everything was very solidly put together. I reinstalled the floor which had fallen out when I was flipping it this way and that way, then added the roof. Since this was for 3-20 pound tortoises, the bottom lip at the entrance was too high so I built them some steps out of bricks and I screwed a cover over the top part of the door, then hung a heavy cloth over the bottom half that they can push aside to get in and out. I added the hanging heater lamp and that was it. I have two, 150 watt ceramic heat emitters but only one is turned on and the house stays nice and warm. So far it has been down to 41 here and it was still warm inside. I'm happy with my purchase and I think a dog would actually enjoy the house. I would definitely get a flap for the dog, too......we forgot to insert the metal support struts under the bottom of the dog house before proceeding (part A)....our bad ...otherwise this is a 10-15 minute build without tools except for a rubber mallet just to make sure all the pieces are tight. We placed an indoor outdoor carpet remnant to fit and our girl is very happy...incidently she is a 90 lb chocolate lab...fits perfectly. Love the colors--they match out home exterior. and like that it is vented and up off the ground. We bought this dog house thinking our Lab/Pit mix dog would fit perfectly in it but turns out it's smaller then we thought. So now it's in the front yard being utilized by our cat. It still looks great. It was easy to put together, pieces were marked. Top trim piece arrived cracked in the box. Honestly it’s just ok. It looks like it will hold up for a couple years under normal use. Thankfully our dog is not a chewer, if she was I don’t think this house would survive. It’s pretty thin.I was so scared to get this bc of all the negative reviews. I am NOT savvy at mechanical things at all, but this was ridiculously easy to put together. It DID come with instructions that were super easy to understand. All the holes and notches lined up perfectly. No tears. No cussing. No regrets. It's super well made, too. You can tell it's not going to rot or leak or fall apart. I just had to come post a review to give hope to those that would like to order this but are afraid by what they read. Tips: 1) do what the directions say and lay out all pieces in numerical order; 2) don't get it a hurry and study the drawings and READ the instructions so you don't have to start over; 3) put all the screws and bolts in it to give it stability and ensure that all tongue and grove parts fit together before moving on. Love my dog house.she loves it. The door off-side like it is, gives Goldie a nice sheltered section to keep out of the wind if she wants. Fits her just right (40 lb yellow lab female) and the snow slides off the back, preventing build-up. Looking forward to seeing her use it come the summer; for now, in mid-winter, it is a cozy hangout when she wants to get off her paws and out of the snow. Putting it together was relativly simple--no tools involved. I placed all the parts in numerical order like instructions advised and it went well. One thing though: I wanted to buy a product MADE IN AMERICA. As in, the USA. And carefully chose it because that is what it said in product description and on the box...but I found it elsewhere and it said it was not made in the USA, and the sticker supplied w/ the product (to be placed on after construction) says: BUY IT ONCE BUT IT RIGHT. I think it is supposed to say BUY IT RIGHT and where else but in China would they not catch that mistake. I like the product but do not like being duped into thinkingn it was made here.Amazingly easy to set up. Make sure to follow the instructions. It advises if you put all the parts in numerical order it will make your life easier. does it ever. My dog loves the house, it seems very sturdy and I think it will last for a very long timePut together very easily looks exactly as shownThieves
